The President’s Volunteer Service Award recognizes United States citizens and lawfully admitted, permanent residents of the United States who have achieved the required number of hours of service over a 12-month time period or cumulative hours over the course of a lifetime.
To be eligible to receive the President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA), applicants’ service hours must be confirmed by a registered Certifying Organization. Service Unit 32-11 is a registered Certifying Organization. It is pleased to review and certify the hours submitted by any registered member, girl or adult, of our Service Unit.
Service Unit 32-11 follows a calendar year in its certification. If you want to be included in our SU's recognition ceremony in the spring, you must have your hours certified (see below) by March 1st of that year.

The awards are not free to the certifying organization.
The Service Unit leadership will have to approve the expenditures for the cost of each award as well as shipping and handling costs each year.

******* Please note: Volunteers are required to maintain their individual hours. You can use the software of your choosing to maintain your hours. When the Service Unit issues a data call (January/February), submit a report of your hours to your Service Unit PVSA Volunteer by the deadline (March 1st).*********
Report Hours
Your report to the Service Unit volunteer should cover the entire calendar year and include
- Your scout's name (as it should appear on the certificate)
- Scout's age,
- For each activity: a description of the activity, Benefiting Organizations, Date(s) of Service and Hours Conducted
- Which award level you believe you qualify for:
Distribution of Awards
PVSAs will be presented at an award ceremony or special Service Unit Meeting in the spring (April/May).
