For their Agent of Change Take Action Project troop 4762 worked with NIH Children's Inn. Recognizing that there is a lot of wait time and sitting around time while waiting for appointments or recovering from procedures, the girls came up with the idea to create activity books for patients and sibling family members at the NIH Children's Inn. Each girl picked a grade level on which to focus and then did research to come up with or create several activity pages (approx 10) focused for that age group, such as crossword puzzles, vocabulary games, and word searches. A "master" activity book was then assembled for use by NIH families.

Girl Scout Seniors know the world is not ideal. This journey for ninth-and-tenth graders is their chance to imagine a perfect world-for girls. They're invited to create their vision as an art project-in any medium of their choicere to edit.
Troop organized a project to help the Literacy Council of Frederick County launch a new “laundromat literacy” project to help reach children and families waiting in laundromats in the Frederick area to encourage them to read and seek local services to learn to read and speak English. This project is targeting children, as well as adults who are native English speakers who are struggling to read above an elementary school level and adults for whom English is a second language.
Gently used children’s books are needed for this project and three collection boxes are located in Poolesville at the CVS (until Oct. 26), Library and Poolesville Athletic Club (until November 2nd). The girls will also be coordinating with several laundromats and helping to design a display in each facility.
