Be a Troop Leader!
Our Service Unit is always in need of leaders for girls at every level. To be a girl scout leader is a very rewarding experience, and there are a lot of girls interested in joining a troop.
Where do Girl Scout Leaders come from?
You don’t have to have children to be a troop leader! Leaders are volunteers - parents, grandparents, guardians, aunts, uncles, other family members and adult friends of registered girls who give unselfishly of their time.
Don’t forget college students who need a community service project.
What makes a troop thrive?
- Helping hands
- Enthusiasm
- Positive attitudes
- Team work
- Dedication
Troop Leadership Options
Each troop needs at least two adult volunteers. There are lots of options in setting up a troop:
- There can be a leader with an assistant leader;
- There can be a number of co-leaders;
- There can be a co-op troop where the leadership is rotated among each troop member family.
You Won't Have to go it Alone!
Service Unit 32-11 offers a special service to help new leaders set up their troops, and to help organize meetings.
New volunteers are provided a comprehensive orientation, support and program guides to make leading a troop easy, rewarding and fun.
